Sata Controller

What is a SATA controller?
Thanks for answering my previous post. What is a SATA controller and how do you use to connect to my system existing, which is IDE? What is the benefit of a SATA? Thanks Thanks – But what is a SATA controller, and how they connect, etc?
SATA has a faster data transfer rate of IDE and you need a connector that connects a SATA cable to a SATA port on the connector and another cable from the same connector has a IDE cable into the IDE port

In 1986, the standard SCSI and ATA both were introduced in the same year. There have been improvements in the SCSI standard especially in the critical areas such as bus speed, the speed, quantity of devices that can be attached and the bus speed. SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) is called as Scuzzy. Small Computer System Interface and SATA (Serial ATA) and ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment) may be used for other purposes and not only the connection of the hard drives of computers as the connection of other peripherals including scanners, printers, optical disk drives and tape drives.
The host adapter is required for The SCSI hard drive can be connected to the motherboard. Besides being a processing center, this acts more as a gateway for data transfer. When heavy data being processed, the system resources are being released because of the SCSI controller. Most of the work is done by the individual controllers hard disk. The single SCSI hard drive does not require CPU power and thus can communicate directly. Moreover, the SATA or ATA hard disk drives depend transformation of the communications system. SCSI adapter has the ability to support up to fifteen hard drives or other devices.
There are several connections physical are used by hard drives to connect to the system. Terminal blocks and plug known as headers are on desktop motherboards more modern. They support the SATA connector (7 pin) and / or ATA connector (40 pins). Built into the adapters are found in high-end motherboards due to the characteristics specialized SCSI. The number of terminals header can be 80, 68, 50 or 25, depending on the type and age. SCSI Adapters (autonomous) X is available for PCI slots or PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect). Can be chosen to match the hard disks in hand.
Cables that connect to the SCSI hard disk drives nor are different depending on the number of pins required to connect, but also because of the amount of hard drives in a channel. More hard drives can be added the SCSI channel for the chain of wires together. At the end of the line, a device must be installed so that the channel can detect the end of the string. Terminator is used for this purpose. This cable has a terminator that is removable. Three connectors are presented in this cable for Ultra-160 SCSI hard drives. Each hard drive has been set switches or bridges so that the system can identify all devices on a small computer system interface bus.
SCSI-ID or a single value is required for each of the hard drive. A unique value is made possible by the jumper settings. SCSI-ID in a system that is able to support sixteen devices to translate number that would be between zero and fifteen. SCSI-1 standard is a parallel interface. SCSI-1 features 5 MB / sec transfer rate of 5 megahertz, 8-bit bus width. This 1-channel controller can connect up to eight devices. Interface Ultra SCSI-320 is also parallel. SCSI Ultra-320 supports 320 MB / sec transfer speed of 40 megahertz, 16-bit bus width. Sixteen devices can be connected by a channel adapter. These devices typically are 15 hard drives and 1 adapter. ATA 133 standard is parallel interface. Supports up to 133MB / s speed data transfer of 33 MHz, 16-bit bus width. A channel ATA 133 can connect two devices.
