Can anyone advise a heat sink for my Intel Q6700 QuadCore CPU?
I managed to get this CPU for $ 50 after a bit of haggling on my local computer fair. Only problem is, its OEM version without heat sink … Can anyone suggest one as I really am not until cooler:) Thank you
Socket 775 heat sink normal will suffice. There is no need for 40 € + heatsinks.

Everyone really want a fast hot computer when we want to do business computing and when we want to play high-speed Thos games. But we do not want a fast computer and hot in the literal sense.
Heat will destroy any computer component if not removed in time. And the CPU chip is a major components in your system that produces heat.
The heat sink has the important task of all to cool the CPU chip that can not be moments overheat. And that the heat sink can not do its job and must be changed.
Changing the heat sink in central processing unit or CPU chip is a simple job.And the best part is you only need a small screwdriver, cotton swabs, and some alcohol.
To change the sink heak remember thinking first. This Security means that you want to be sure you have clean hands, a clean workplace and the elimination of any static charge your body by touching a doorknob of the door or other metal object.
Once you have a suitable work area and clean hands should now have a mind suitable clean as
well.Allow this task both educational and change the sink fun.To heak do the following.
Step 1.Unplug the computer and remove the cover from the case of the System Unit.
Step 2. Find the CPU chip and the heatsink will be top.Find the wires that go to the motherboard and very carefully unplug them.
Step 3. Remove heak the old sink and cooling fan assembly. Most Pentium based computers will have two levers that lock the heatsink in place.
On older Pentium computers, the AMD Athlon and Duron, or look for a ZIF socket Zero Insertion Force where the processor is mounted.
Gently release sliding the clips very small screwdriver under it and lift the heatsink off the attention of large CPU.Take here do not damge the CPU chip in any way.
Step 4. Once the old heat sink has been removed, clean away the old thermal paste using cotton swabs and rubbing time alcohol.Allow for the CPU to dry.
Step 5. Take a bit of thermal paste and squeeze a bit over the top CPU.Only place enough to have a thin layer between the CPU and heat sink.
Step 6. Before installing the new heatsink, clean off the bottom with a little soap and warm water. Check to make sure the heat sink is dry before installing.
Step 7. Carefully along the line which the processor socket and if so equipped. If equipment and new Pentium or Athlon-based chips, blocking both
clips holding the assembly.
Step 8. With the CPU and heat sink firmly in place, now is while reconnecting the fan cables to the assembly in fan.Plug Collonge motherboard.
Step 9. Check, double check, and after that, watch more to ensure that all connections are place.See if the heat sink assembly is well secured in its socket.
Step 10. Now, replace the cover system unit, connect all peripherals disconnected.Start the PC and the team must now realize that you have a new device on your system.
A Once the computer has been booted, verify the operating system is working. If possible, look at the back of the computer to see if the fan is running as that should.
Central Processing Unit is not the only heat-producing components of computer. But since the brain of any computer, you want ensure that the heat sink performs at its best.
Take time to know in detail the procedure by removing the box and look heat sink in its own computer.Knowing how to perform this task can save money if you need to change your heat sink in the future.
