What is the connection port at the bottom of my Sony Vaio PCG-Z1RMP? Looks like a IDE connection.?
The link always shows me internal hard drive. This in no way proves his claim that the connection at the bottom of my laptop is IDE. More answers?
More likely is that of an extra battery, a cooling pad, or any other specific accessory from Sony. I doubt it would be a SATA IDE connection, most laptops in recent years have been.

You must consider a basic rule. If you install two IDE hard drives or devices on the same IDE channel (controller), you must configure the bridge. Steps to start the installation of computer

Creating the partition is another important step towards the installation of computers.
STEP 1. After getting the hard drive recognized by the BIOS, you will need a boot disk files must contain: Fdisk.exe and Format.com. The diskette you use must be a bootable floppy.
STEP 2. Place the diskette start drive 1.44MB floppy and turn on the computer.
STEP 3 .. Wait for the "A:>" prompt, type dir and must show three files Fdisk.exe, Format.com and Command.com.
STEP 4. Now, a partition is required for DOS and Windows will see the new hard drive. At A:> type fdisk and press ENTER.
STEP 5. In Fdisk menu, create a new partition and select # 1 and press Enter.
STEP 6. Then select a # 1 for the primary DOS partition and press Enter. Similarly user can increase the number partition.
STEP 7. Fdisk asks for the partition size of various sizes of the partitions on a hard drive.
STEP 8. Fdisk will ask the end user to give the desired name, if a name is not desired, press Enter when prompted. Restart the system.
