How big is a memory of 512mb compared with 1 GB?

I was thinking of buying 2 cards MMC memory of 512 MB of fry, but wondering if one of 1 GB is smaller or larger than 2 512?

Same size. Two of 512 cards have the same capacity as a card 1 GB (1GB = 1024MB).
