Memory is a rather boring, but usually quite complains one, thanks in large part to JEDEC standards authority in the memory industry. The history of the RAM has been interesting to say the least, and it is remarkable how the industry has gone from Dips DDR3 DIMM sockets in a relatively short time.

DDR3 has grown at a rate fast enough since its inception and now boasts speeds in the region of 2GHz and with tensions much lower than that of DDR2.
