Ata Atapi

I've been playing this gamesince my husband gave me for Christmas, but today I get an error?
It says "You're trying to initiate a request for copy protection that requires the original disc to be on the CD / DVD-ROM. Please make sure your disk is an original. "Open the Device Manager. Double-click the IDE ATA / ATAPI Controllers to display the list of controllers and channels. Click the icon for the channel that your CD / DVD is connected, select Properties and click the Advanced Settings tab. In the Current Transfer Mode drop-down list, select "DMA if available" if the configuration Current is "PIO Only." If the drop-down box already shows "DMA if available" but the current transfer mode is PIO, then you should change the settings. That is: Change the selection from "DMA if available" to PIO only, and click OK. "Well, I do not know what the device manager is or how or reach it, but I know that this is an original CD and have worked up til know that no one can help
First things first. It's the game disc in the CD. Ok, to get where they are giving instructions to go .. Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click on the hardware, you see the Device Manager, click it. You will receive a lsit of things come up. When you see IDE ATA / ATAPI, there will be a small box with a + therein. Click on the + sign and you will see more articles. Right click on the primary IDE channel. Go to properties, click advanced settings and follow the instructions included in your question. Hope this helps. By the way what game is? like I've never heard of a game of giving such instructions that before.

I found this application useful through FixMyXP. ClearMem is an excellent tool to speed up your XP Computer (especially if the system has been for a while and has a lot of applications open). What it does, is that pages in the Forces of physical memory and reduces the size of running processes, if the sets work to a minimum. When you run this tool, the system stops due to excessive high-priority activity associated with trimming the working sets. To implement this tool, the paging file must be at least as large as physical memory. To check your paging file:
