Can I pick up the analogue TV signal with an ATSC tuner?

I am going to buy a LCD HDTV. I will use a rooftop antenna to pick up excess air programming. Not all programs are in HD yet. Does the ATSC tuner pick up both analogue and digital? Or I have to get a set with ATSC / NTSC? If so will automatically read the signal tuners use? Reggieman Edal Thanks, Thanks for the info. Separate video or S-Video are also known as Y / C cables. S-Video Cables are capable of transmitting analog video signals over long distances. Technically speaking, two different currents that carry the video signal.
